General Information
Lowest Time and Only Army O-2A Flying in the World w/Skywatch. Incredible Restoration!!!!

Detailed Description
This is a one of a kind airplane in immaculate condition that must be seen and flown to be appreciated. It is 1 of only 6 O-2A's designated for the Army and is the last known Army O-2A that is still flying. It has the lowest total time airframe of any known 0-2A flying in the world. For its entire military service it was stationed in Germany (USAFE) and operated as a VIP transport and used for Berlin corridor surveillance. It has no damage history and is still in authentic military paint colors as painted by the Army. With fresh props, freshly overhauled rear engine and very low time front engine, this aircraft will delivery its new owners years of economic flying pleasure. The aircraft is standard category!!!!

The interior, airframe and instrument panel have undergone an extensive restoration over the past two years by Andy Gemellaro. This is his third O-2A restoration and 10th aircraft. The interior was completely redone with new fabricated aluminum sidewalls, ultimate sound proofing, new carpet, new headliner and side interior window frames. The seats were fabricated using the best aerospace foam available and recovered with authentic O.D. Canvass Duck with custom back seat pockets. Seat belts are new. Windsheild is new. This is, without a doubt, the quietest and nicest O-2A around.

All airframe and engine hoses (Oil, Fuel and Hydraulic) have been replaced with steel braided Teflon hoses and all engine hoses are fire sleeved. Brakes have new brake rotors, pads and bearings. Tires and tubes are new. All antenna coax was replaced with new RG-400 coax. Cowl flaps have been rebuilt with new bushings, rod ends and end bearings. New Whelan wing tip and tail light strobes have been installed. The aircraft has a new rear engine oil cooler, 4 new quick drains and Air Wolf oil filter systems on both engines. The battery has been relocated to front firewall.

The instrument panel was completely refurbished and aerospace engraved with the pilot's lower switch panel completely redesigned. Instrument lighting has been converted to all solid state. The aircraft has new dual solid state 115 VAC static inverters with a new avionics emergency power bus that was added for safety. It has new electronic voltage regulators, new avionics sub panel and circuit breakers, new compass, new fire extinquisher, original canopy breaking tool, original emergency landing gear skids, cabin speaker, new CA-505 Heads-Up Display Gun Sight (original equipment and very hard to find). The aircraft has been completely re-wired and utilizes a junction box with new connectors. All the military avionics are fully functional including the FM and UHF. This is the only O-2A that has the Skywatch traffic advisory system ($25,000) coupled to a Garmin MX-20 Multi Function Display.

All 4 original under wing pylons have been completely refurbished and the original armament panel is still in the aircraft.

Show off this aircraft at OSHKOSH or enjoy reliable family transport. This aircraft has the fourth additional seat added. With all the extra windows, including the fact that the pilot sits forward of the wing, the view is spectacular. Call us and we can make this one-of-a-kind airplane yours.

O2-A's differ from Skymasters (337) in that they carry 125 gallons of fuel, have a beefier spar, larger rear cowl flaps from T-337, observation windows overhead, observation window in bottom of the passenger door, and large pilot bubble windows (late model O-2A's only), dual inverters, factory shoulder harnesses, HF radio, UHf radio with corresponding antennae, two stores pylon under each wing with armament control panel over glareshield, 336 elevator (shorter cord by 4 inches than 337 elevator), no prop spinners, instrument panel rearrangement, front engine baffle changes, elevator bobweight and downspring removed, polyurethane baffles in fuel tanks, engine fire detection equipment added, smoke generator equipment for rear engine exhaust, fuel selector valves relocated, and cabin door rip hnges installed.
