Gulfstream Headed To LABACE 2019 With G600, G650ER & G280 Business Jets In Tow

When Gulfstream brings three of its current production business jets to the annual LABACE (Latin American Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition) event August 13th to 15th in Sao Paulo, Brazil, it will do so in a market where its fleet has grown 25% since 2014. Gulfstream will feature its new G600 corporate jet (which received its Federal Aviation Administration certification in June), the ultra-long-range G650ER (7,500 nautical miles; 13,890 kilometers at Mach 0.85), and super-midsize 10-passenger Gulfstream G280 at the show.

    Gulfstream In Latin America

Billed as Latin America’s largest business aviation event, LABACE typically features hundreds of aircraft, 1,500-plus exhibitors, and more than 155,000 visitors. LABACE is one of four international trade shows staged via partnerships with the National Business Aviation Association. Gulfstream says it has roughly 230 aircraft in Latin America, about 70% of which are large-cabin models like the G650ER, G650, and G550. Roughly 100, 40, and 25 planes are respectively stationed at operator bases in Mexico, Brazil, and Venezuela, Gulfstream notes.

Scott Neal, Gulfstream senior vice president, worldwide sales, says that since the first LABACE in 2003, Gulfstream’s Latin American fleet has grown dramatically. Neal says Gulfstream is especially excited to have the G600 at LABACE for the second consecutive year. “The G600 is able to travel nonstop to the continental U.S. and Europe from major cities in Brazil at speeds from Mach 0.85 to Mach 0.90, making it one of the best options for travel in the region,” he says.

    The LABACE Trio

The 19-passenger G600, which is expected to enter service soon, can fly 5,500 nautical miles (10,186 kilometers) at Mach 0.90 and has a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925. Gulfstream says this means frequent flyers can save 50-plus hours of travel time in the G600 vs. competing aircraft in the course of a typical year. The flagship G650ER, meanwhile, provides four distinct living areas and can transport eight passengers 6,400 nautical miles (11,853 kilometers) at Mach 0.90. Elsewhere, when departing Sao Paulo, Gulfstream says the G280 can “fly anywhere in South America without refueling, and can fly to the U.S. and Europe with one stop.”
