This month, Cirrus Aircraft will begin delivering its all-new 2020 G6 SR Series aircraft, which the company says is the most technologically advanced of its single-engine, piston-based SR Series airplanes. Cirrus introduced the SR Series in 1999 with the SR20, designed for business aviation and training applications. Now in its sixth generation, the SR Series also includes the SR22 and turbocharged SR22T. While the 2020 G6 SR Series models include numerous features, Cirrus says the highlight is the introduction of the Cirrus Aircraft App powered by the Cirrus IQ platform that provides a “digital connection to the aircraft from virtually anywhere in the world.”

(Cirrus also manufacturers the Vision Jet, which it says is “the world’s first single-engine personal jet.”)

    Remote Communication

Cirrus claims the SR Series has been the world’s best-selling high-performance single-engine piston aircraft for 17 years running. “That success doesn’t stop our team from pursuing relentless innovation,” says Zean Nielsen, Cirrus CEO. Adding the app, he says, “is a bold new step toward a fully connected aircraft.” Using the iPhone-based app, SR Series aircraft owners/operators can remotely access such key pre-flight status data as fuel and oxygen levels, battery voltage, oil temperature, aircraft location, and flight hours.

Cirrus has also upgraded the Cirrus Perspective+ by Garmin flight deck onboard with safety-enhancing features, including a new stabilized approach-advisory system that provides pilots with visual and aural alerts concerning unstable conditions during an approach. “With these upgrades, the 2020 G6 SR Series offers the most comprehensive, integrated, and intelligent flight experience available today,” Cirrus states.

    Pick Your Color

The 2020 G6 SR Series provides numerous exterior color options “inspired by supercars”—including Aurora Purple, Highlands Green, Bimini Blue, and Volt—that are paired with “aggressive accent lines.” Also available is an optional all-new four-blade SR22T propeller from Hartzell Propeller that features technologically advanced carbon fiber construction.

You’ll find a big selection of new and used Cirrus aircraft for sale every day on Controller.com, including SR20s, SR22s, and SF50 Vision Jets.
