Cirrus Aircraft Commemorates 8,000th SR Series Delivery With 8000 Limited Edition SR Series Model

Cirrus Aircraft recently announced that it will produce a limited run of eight exclusive 8000 Limited Edition SR Series aircraft to commemorate the 8,000th delivery of its SR Series piston aircraft, set to take place later this year. Designed by the firm’s in-house Xi Design Studio team and inspired by the runway takeoff experience, the plane features smooth-flowing aerodynamic lines and “unapologetic” bold exterior colors. Cirrus will also present owners with curated gifts and events. Founded in 1984, Cirrus delivered its first SR Series plane, an SR20, in 1999.

An Unmistakable Design

Cirrus’ lineup now includes SR20, SR22, and turbocharged SR22T models, plus the Robert J. Collier Trophy-winning Vision Jet, which Cirrus calls “the world’s first single-engine Personal Jet.” The SR lineup’s latest model, the 2017-launched sixth-generation G6 SR Series, introduced the Cirrus Perspective by Garmin flight deck, Cirrus Spectra wingtip lighting, and the Cirrus IQ mobile app that enables real-time access to aircraft data.

Along with the 8,000th delivery, SR Series aircraft will surpass 11 million total flight hours this year as accumulated in more than 60 countries worldwide. The 8000 Limited Edition SR Series honoring these accomplishments will feature what Cirrus says is an industry-first Volt wing paint scheme that presents “unmistakable graphics and colors” extending into the plane’s interior with Volt stitching and embroidery on the door.
