Oil analysis obtained during the SB / AD maintenance showed a decrease in metal compared with the prior sample.

Together with the light surface corrosion found during inspection and the aircraft's historically low annual utilization, the results are consistent with infrequent operation as a contributing factor. Consistent with Lycoming's recommendation for more frequent and longer operation, the owner has committed to flying the aircraft weekly. Continued regular utilization is expected to help limit further corrosion and support a continuing downward trend in future oil-analysis results.
The aircraft is fully airworthy and available for normal operation. Because the three cylinders removed during the SB and inspection were reinstalled, the aircraft is completing a normal break-in period to allow the existing rings to reseat. No cylinders or piston rings were replaced.
