Description
Tony Beauchamp of Mason Amelia is proud to present N9131Z, a 1988 Piper Malibu with something increasingly rare among earlier PA-46s: no damage history and only two previous owners.
This isn’t just another Malibu coming to market, and I’m not just another broker representing it. I’ve flown it, maintained it, and worked on it for years. I know this airplane inside and out. N9131Z has been maintained to the absolute highest standards, with the kind of personal oversight that is almost impossible to put a price on.
Power comes from a Continental TSIO-550-C overhauled by Gann Aviation, paired with a new 3-blade Hartzell composite propeller, both clocking only 345 hours. It’s a low-time combination with plenty of muscle to support three things that elevate the Malibu: PRESSURIZATION. FIKI. AIR CONDITIONING.
And really, the Malibu’s entire appeal is wrapped up right there. It gives you the comfort and capability to climb high, avoid weather, stay cool, and cover serious ground efficiently. Add 120 gallons of fuel, a 1,247-pound useful load, Parker Hannifin landing gear, and electric flaps, and you’ve got serious capability without stepping into turbine-level operating costs.
And finally, the cosmetics. Here’s something you simply don’t see every day on a 1988 airplane: original paint that still looks remarkably close to new. Original sometimes means old and tired. On N9131Z, it means preserved. No repaint. No cosmetic reset button. What you see is the factory finish, exceptionally well cared for over nearly four decades. Inside, classic Malibu vibes. Refurbished in 2003, the interior has been meticulously cared for. The leather remains supple and attractive, the cabin is tidy and clean, and nothing feels tired or neglected. It’s an impressive presentation that reflects years of attentive ownership.
Go fast. Go far. Go comfortably. Don't burn money doing it. THIS IS THE MALIBU TO BEAT.
