1943 BEECHCRAFT D-17S STAGGERWING
Award-Winning Restoration • 661 Hours Since Major Rebuild • Oshkosh Provenance
An excellent opportunity to acquire a beautifully presented 1943 Beechcraft D-17S Staggerwing, one of the most distinctive and highly regarded classic aircraft of the Golden Age of aviation.
Originally restored during the 1980s, this Staggerwing subsequently underwent an extensive major rebuild between 1997 and 2000. The quality of that work was recognized at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh in 2000, where the aircraft received an award following completion of the rebuild.
Since that time, the aircraft has accumulated approximately 661 hours, providing the desirable combination of an established, proven restoration and regular operational history.
The D-17S represents the ultimate development of Beechcraft’s legendary Staggerwing series, combining its unmistakable negative-stagger biplane configuration with outstanding performance, craftsmanship, and elegance.
Today, this aircraft presents as a very nice, well-established example of an increasingly desirable American classic. With its award-winning history, relatively modest time since rebuild, and timeless Staggerwing presence, it represents an attractive opportunity for the collector or owner seeking an aircraft equally at home on the flight line or the show field.
