    About Hawker Aircraft

Hawker aircraft are no longer in production, but owner Textron Aviation continues to support older models with call support, mobile service, and service centers worldwide.

    2007 Hawker 900XP Business Jet

Hawker’s company name comes from Australian Henry Hawker, a chief test pilot for aircraft maker Sopwith Aviation Company in the early 1920s. Hawker joined Sopwith and others in 1933 to cofound the company Hawker Aircraft Limited.

The Hawker line would eventually become part of Corporate Jets, a line of business jets that British Aerospace owned. Raytheon Aircraft Company purchased Corporate Jets in the early 1990s and merged it with Beech Aircraft, which it previously acquired, to create Raytheon Aircraft Company.

A Goldman Sachs-affiliated group purchased Raytheon’s aircraft operations in 2007 and formed Hawker Beechcraft, later renaming it Beechcraft. In 2013, Textron acquired Beechcraft.
