AGUSTA Aircraft For Sale

Agusta began as a manufacturer of civil and military aircraft in the early 1920s when Giovanni Agusta founded the company in Northern Italy. Over the years, the company created a motorcycle manufacturing offshoot and entered the helicopter production market in the 1950s. In 2001, the helicopter division became AgustaWestland after Finmeccanica-owned Agusta and GKN-owned Westland merged. Finmeccanica would later buy GKN’s 50% stake in the company. In 2016, Finmeccanica changed its name to Leonardo and made AgustaWestland part of Leonardo’s helicopter operations.

Leonardo’s current line of new and pre-owned helicopters range from 1.8-ton single-engine models to 16-ton three-engine units. Agusta- and AgustaWestland-branded models include the AW189, AW169, AW159, AW149, AW139, AW119, AW109, A119, and A109. The AW139, AW169, and AW189 are cited as belonging to a new generation of helicopters sharing design, components, and maintenance and training approaches.

Leonardo also offers a hybrid AW609 TiltRotor model that features full fly-by-wire digital controls and offers benefits associated with both a helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft to suit multiple applications, including executive transport.
