Sukhoi Introduces SSJ100 Business Jet With VIP Configuration
Russia-based Sukhoi Civil Aircraft (SCAC) recently provided details concerning its SBJ (Sukhoi Business Jet), a variation of the company’s Super Jet 100, or SSJ100. In a company press release, Sukhoi detailed the recent delivery of SBJ model to the Kazakhstan-based natural resource and mining and processing company Kazakhmys that features business interior configuration.
VIP & Business Class Cabins
Completed by U.S.-based Comlux Completion, a provider of VIP aircraft services, the SBJ business configuration includes a VIP cabin that features four passenger seats, a table, and sofa in the forward area, as well as an additional bathroom and wardrobe space. A second cabin contains 15 business class seats in a 2-1 arrangement.
Long-Range Predecessor
SCAC delivered a long-range SSJ100 to Kazakhmys in May 2015 that contained a basic interior. The replenishment of the interior to the business configuration was aimed to provide employees and top management with additional comfort, said Eduard Ogai, who heads up Kazakhmys in Kazakhstan. “This is the right and necessary business tool for our company,” he added.
Jets Built For Business
SCAC, which bills the SBJ as “reserved for high fliers,” reports that nine SBJ aircraft have performed 2,000-plus hours of commercial flights to date and flown 3,500 hours since December 2014. The company introduced a business cabin version of the aircraft in 2013 that’s capable of handling 19 passengers and that divides the interior into different zones, included zones specifically intended for business meetings.
SCAC later presented the SBJ at the JetExpo airshow in 2014 and received certification in November 2014. In July 2016, The Royal Thai Air Force became the first foreign customers of the SBJ, receiving aircraft featuring three interior zones, including a four-seat VIP zone, a business zone with six seats, and a standard zone seating 50 passengers. Elsewhere, SBJ completed a SportJet by Sukhoi configuration in summer 2016 that’s aimed at professional athletes and features a configuration with four zones, including a recovery zone with containing physiotherapy equipment.

Overall, SCAC offers the SBJ in VIP, Government, and Corporate configurations that vary in flight ranges and passenger configurations. Notably, the company touts the SBJ has offering more space that its business jet competitors. The VIP configuration includes a forward galley, lavatory, bar, VIP lavatory, lounge and conference area, private office, private bedroom, and private washroom.
