All Used Aircraft Segments Experience Year-Over-Year Inventory Declines In August
Sandhills Global’s newest market reports cover August data for pre-owned aircraft on Controller.com and other Sandhills platforms. Inventory levels declined year over year across all used aircraft segments in August, with the largest decreases occurring in the large jet aircraft segment, down 37.7%, and the super mid jet segment, down 20.9%.
Month-over-month inventory levels increased in five of seven segments, led by the mid jet segment, which posted a 16.7% gain. Only the light jet segment recorded a decline, down 6.3%, while the super mid jet segment remained unchanged.
Asking values decreased M/M across every segment. Piston helicopters recorded the steepest decrease, down 9.3%, followed by turboprop aircraft, which were down 2.3%. Asking values declined Y/Y in five of seven segments, with the largest decreases occurring in the large jet segment (down 3.6%) and the piston single aircraft segment (down 1.6%). Only light jet and piston helicopter asking values posted Y/Y increases, gaining 0.6% and 0.8%, respectively.
