Gulfstream Aerospace’s long-range G650ER business jet is currently making its debut at the biennial Airshow China exhibition running Nov. 6 to 11 in Zhuhai, China. Gulfstream will also display a G550 jet that it modified for medevac and airlift missions and delivered to the Beijing Red Cross Emergency Medical Center in July. Gulfstream says 340-plus Gulfstream aircraft are based in the Asia-Pacific region, making it Gulfstream’s largest international market.

    Flying In China

To bolster its service in the region, Gulfstream has made recent investments in a dedicated Asia Customer Support Contact Center in Hong Kong, as well as in its Beijing service center, local field service representatives, and authorized maintenance facilities. Gulfstream also invested in roughly $50 million worth of parts inventory throughout the region.

Beijing Red Cross has also expressed interest in obtaining a G650ER to serve medical care missions. While Gulfstream introduced the 19-passenger G550 in 2003 with a 6,750-nautical-mile (12,501-kilometer) range, the G650ER entered service in 2012 as an extended version of the G650 offering a 7,500-nautical-mile (13,890-kilometer) range at Mach 0.85. Combined, the G650ER and G650 have charted more than 75 speed records.

    Diverse Missions

Gulfstream President Mark Burns says Gulfstream’s aircraft serve missions ranging from “commanding global trade to aiding in rescue and life-saving operations.” Burns notes, for example, that the Beijing Red Cross Emergency Medical Center’s G550 recently conducted two complex rescue missions entailing varied weather conditions, mountainous terrain, and operations at China’s Lhasa Gonggar Airport, “one of the world’s highest-altitude airports.”

Besides the G550, G650, and G650ER, Gulfstream produces the G280, G500, and G600. You’ll find scores of new and used Gulfstream aircraft for sale on Controller.com, including Gulfstream G650ERs, G650s, G550s, G450s, G200s, G150s, and IVs.
