Bombardier Introduces Learjet 75 Liberty Business Jet For 2020 Expected Deliveries

    Posted On: July 9, 2019

Bombardier recently announced the launch of the Learjet 75 Liberty business jet for 2020 expected deliveries at a list price of roughly $10 million. The six-seat model will feature an Executive Suite in the cabin and a slighter longer flight range than the Learjet 70 and 75 models. (Photo courtesy of Bombardier.)

Bombardier, owner of the Learjet brand of business jets, announced in early July the launch of the Learjet 75 Liberty for expected 2020 deliveries at a $9.9 million list price. Essentially a reworking of Bombardier’s eight-seat Learjet 75 that entered service in 2013, the 75 Liberty will offer six seats but add cabin space to provide what Bombardier says is the only Executive Suite in the light jet category. The Liberty will also add additional flight range, but cost several million dollars less than its Learjet siblings.

    “A Step Up”

Entered into service in 1964, the Learjet fleet has logged 25 million flight hours overall. With the Liberty 75, Bombardier says it is opening “a new frontier for the iconic” brand, at least in part by giving it a list price that enables more light jet operators than ever to access the platform “that launched business aviation in America.” David Coleal, Bombardier Aviation president, says the aircraft “represents a step up for customers in the light jet segment” and “delivers a flight experience that eclipses the competition.”

At 2,080 nautical miles (3,852 kilometers), the Liberty’s flight range is 40 nautical miles (74 kilometers) longer than the Learjet 75’s and enables such nonstop connections as Las Vegas to New York, Seattle to Washington, D.C., and Mexico City to San Francisco. As with the Learjet 75, the Liberty will use Honeywell TFE731-40BR engines, will provide a maximum flight altitude of 51,000 feet (15,545 meters), and will offer a Mach 0.81 top speed and a Mach 0.79 cruise speed. The jet also features the Bombardier Flight Deck with the Garmin G500 avionics upgrade that Bombardier announced last year for the 70 and 75.

    Part 25 Certified

Besides featuring a flat floor throughout the cabin and providing Gogo ATG 4G connectivity, the Liberty 75 is certified for Federal Aviation Administration Part 25 regulations, unlike most competitor light jets that are certified for less stringent Part 23 regulations, Bombardier says.

In addition to Learjet aircraft, Bombardier manufactures Challenger and Global business jets. You’ll find scores of new and used Learjet and Bombardier Challenger and Global aircraft for sale every day on Controller.com.
