Dassault Aviation displayed three business jets at the recent annual Latin American Business Aviation Conference Exhibition (LABACE)—Latin America’s largest business aviation event—in São Paulo, Brazil. The 16-passenger Falcon 6X made its show debut, fresh off a 6-month global tour during which it logged more than 700 flight hours without missing a demo. Dassault says that’s an indication of the jet’s exceptional reliability.

    Falcon 6X Jet Details

Dassault says the Falcon 6X twinjet, introduced in 2018 and entered into service last year, is the industry’s first extra-widebody business jet and has business aviation’s largest cabin cross-section. The cabin won a Red Dot: Best of the Best award in 2021. It provides 1,843 feet3 (52.2 meters3) of space and plenty of natural lighting thanks to 30 extra-large windows and a skylight.

The Falcon 6X’s demonstrated performance includes handling short-field takeoffs and landings on mountain runways at 3,500 feet (1,067 meters). Powered by Pratt & Whitney Canada PW812D engines, the plane has a 5,500-nautical-mile (10,186-kilometer) range, or enough to fly nonstop from São Paulo to London. The plane’s maximum operating speed is Mach 0.90, and it can complete nonstop flights of up to 5,100 nm (9,445 km) at Mach 0.85.

    Also On Display At LABACE

Dassault also had its 10-passenger Falcon 2000LXS and 19-passenger Falcon 10X executive jets at LABACE. The company has delivered nearly 700 units of the 2000LXS, which has a 4,000-nm (7,408-km) range and a 7.6-ft (2.3-m)-wide cabin with 6.2 ft (1.88 m) of headroom.

The manufacturer expects the 10X to receive certification in 2027 and says it’s the industry’s largest purpose-built business jet. The plane’s cabin measures 6.7 ft (2.04 m) tall and 9.1 ft (2.77 m) wide. The aircraft can fly 7,500 nm (13,890 km) nonstop. It has a fourth-generation flight deck, a single-lever Smart Throttle, and an automatic recovery mode.

    New Catarina Service Center

Dassault says a new company-owned service center recently opened at the new Catarina Executive Airport in São Paulo has 40,000 ft2 (3,600 m2) of floor and office space, enough to handle up to five Falcon jets simultaneously. The service center is authorized for line maintenance and calendar- and flight-hour inspections of numerous Falcon models. Buyers considering the purchase of a pre-owned Falcon can also complete pre-purchase evaluations there.
