Dassault Aviation recently unveiled its upcoming Falcon 10X business jet to hundreds of customers, partners, and aviation professionals at its facility in Bordeaux-Mérignac. Expected for delivery before the decade’s end, the clean-sheet 10X introduces the NeXus flight deck, debuts business aviation’s first all-composite wing, and offers what Dassault says is the largest, most comfortable, and most versatile cabin ever in a purpose-built business jet.

“The objective is to allow passengers to experience time on board the aircraft as just another part of their everyday life, not as a long interval between origin and destination,” says Dassault Aviation CEO Eric Trappier. “So, they arrive feeling refreshed and at their very best.”

Basic Facts About The Falcon 10X

Introduced in 2021, the ultra-long-range, ultra-widebody 10X will now soon enter flight testing. The company says the 10X will:

    • Seat up to 19 passengers
    • Have a maximum flight range of 7,500 nautical miles (13,890 kilometers)
    • Reach a maximum operating speed of Mach 0.925
    • Support a maximum certified altitude of 51,000 feet (15,545 meters)
    • Maintain a 3,000-ft (914-m) cabin pressure at a cruising altitude of 41,000 ft (12,497 m)

    Inside The Falcon 10X Cabin

Offering 10X passengers maximum comfort is a high priority for Dassault. The manufacturer says the jet’s cabin, which measures 9.1 ft (2.77 m) wide and 6.7 ft (2 m) tall, is larger than those in some regional jets. Dassault also reports that the interior is 8 inches (20.3 centimeters) wider and 2 in. (5.1 cm) taller than that of its nearest competitor.

    Customers can look forward to:

    • Configuring three or four zone areas, including dining areas, privacy suites, conference areas, bedrooms, and optional full-size showers
    • 100% fresh air continuously recirculated throughout the cabin
    • Individually adjustable temperature zones
    • 38 extra-large windows that help create what Dassault says is business aviation’s brightest cabin
    • The largest in-flight-accessible baggage compartment in the aircraft’s class
The interior of a Dassault Aviation Falcon 10X business jet is shown with a four-seat table, individual seats, and more.
Thanks to the Falcon 10X’s modular construction, customers can specify a cabin with different zone lengths, such as an expanded dining and conference area or a primary suite with a private stand-up shower. (Photo courtesy of Dassault Aviation.)

    Falcon 10X Power & Avionics

The Falcon 10X is powered by two Rolls-Royce Pearl 10X engines designed to deliver outstanding low-noise and emissions performance. The power plants feature Rolls-Royce’s Advance2 engine core that combines with a high-performance, low-pressure system to enable more than 18,000 pounds of thrust from each engine.

The NeXus flight deck, which Dassault developed with Honeywell, is designed to reduce pilot workload while enhancing situational awareness.

    Flight deck features include:

    • Multiple integrated large touchscreen displays with new automation tools
    • A standard dual FalconEye Enhanced Vision System with new features that assist in complex maneuvers
    • The latest generation of Dassault’s Digital Flight Control system
    • A Smart Throttle that manages both engines through one control
    • The first automatic recovery mode in a large business jet
