California-Based Latitude 33 Aviation Adds Two Factory-New Cessna Citation Latitudes To Private Jet Charter Fleet
Textron Aviation describes its midsize Cessna Citation Latitude as “comfort and efficiency perfected.” The comfort comes by way of ample leg room (30 inches, or 0.8 meter), a flat door, and a stand-up 6-foot (1.8-meter) cabin. The efficiency stems from the Latitude’s ability to haul four passengers 2,700 nautical miles (5,000 kilometers) at a high-speed cruise of 446 KTAS (826 km/h). That means coast to coast, nonstop.
California-based Latitude 33 Aviation, a private jet charter company, is offering its clients access to that comfort and efficiency after adding two factory-new Citation Latitudes to its charter fleet in late January.
Optimal Locations For Charter Flights
Latitude 33, which also offers executive jet management and aircraft sales and acquisition services, claims to manage the newest and largest fleet of light jets in the country. The new Latitudes join a fleet of 30-plus private jets that also includes Bombardier Challenger, Embraer Phenom, and other Cessna jets. Latitude 33 owner Solomon Short says the addition of the new Latitudes enhances his company’s abilities and positions it to expand its premium charter service across the Western U.S. and beyond.
Latitude 33 is basing one of the new Latitudes in Van Nuys and the other in Fresno, leaving them “optimally located to serve the needs of both our Los Angeles and Bay-area clients,” Short says. Latitude 33 also has aircraft situated in Carlsbad, Orange County, Long Beach, and Hawthorne in California. The company also claims to be the only ARGUS Platinum-rated operator in San Diego.
Surf & Ski
Certified in 2015, the Citation Latitude seats up to nine passengers and includes dual Pratt & Whitney PW306D1 FADEC-controlled turbofan engines, Garmin G5000 avionics, LinxUs real-time diagnostics, a wireless cabin-management system, and a 1,245-pound (565-kilogram) baggage capacity. These features factor into Latitude 33’s recently launched “Surf to Ski Experience,” which involves a morning surf session in the Pacific Ocean followed by a private charter flight to the mountains along the West Coast for an afternoon of skiing.
