Used Aircraft Segment Sees Notable Year-Over-Year Inventory Declines, Mixed Trends For Asking Prices
Sandhills Global’s newest market reports cover July data for pre-owned aircraft on Controller.com and other Sandhills platforms. Inventory levels declined across all used aircraft categories year over year in July. The large jet aircraft segment posted the steepest Y/Y decrease at 39.6%, followed by the mid jet category with a 23.5% Y/Y drop. On a month-over-month basis, the super mid jet segment recorded the largest inventory change, falling 13.4%.
Asking prices M/M increased in every category, led by the light jet segment at 7% and the mid jet category at 5.8%. Asking values Y/Y were mixed, with the biggest shifts occurring among piston helicopters, up 7.8%, and turboprop aircraft, up 4.6%. The large jet segment recorded the largest Y/Y decline in asking prices at 3.4%.
