    About The Bombardier Global 7500

Bombardier has touted its 19-seat ultra-long-range Global 7500 business jet as “the industry’s only business jet with four living spaces and a dedicated crew rest area,” the “world’s largest purpose-built business jet,” and the “only business aircraft able to connect New York to Hong Kong and Singapore to San Francisco.” A winner of a 2018 Red Dot Award for Product Design, the jet also features Bombardier’s patented Nuage seat, billed as “the first new seat architecture in business aviation in 30 years.”

    Bombardier Global 7500 Business Jet

Originally named the “Global 7000,” Bombardier renamed the jet after it bumped up the aircraft’s flight range by 300 nautical miles (555.6 kilometers) to 7,700 nautical miles (14,260 kilometers) at Mach 0.85. Bombardier also changed the jet’s original takeoff and landing specifications to a new published takeoff distance of 5,800 feet (1,767.8 meters), or what Bombardier says is about 500 feet (152.4 meters) less than the Global 7500’s closest and smaller competitor. The jet earned its Transport Canada, Federal Aviation Administration, and European Aviation Safety Agency certifications in 2018 and entered service the same year.

    Bombardier At A Glance

Headquartered in Montreal, Bombardier is also a global train manufacturer today, but got its start in 1942 manufacturing snowmobiles after company founder Joseph-Armand Bombardier designed and built the first snowmobile ever in 1937. The company entered the aerospace sector in 1986 by acquiring Canadair, maker of Challenger business jets, and followed that move by purchasing the Learjet luxury business jet lineup in 1990.

Bombardier’s aerospace investments continued in 1992 when the company acquired aircraft manufacturer De Havilland; this deal included De Havilland’s Toronto assembly and manufacturing location, where it had operated since 1929. Bombardier used this facility to develop the Global 7500 and currently uses it to manufacture the business jet. Besides the Global 7500, Bombardier manufactures the Learjet 70 and 75 and Challenger 350 and 650 models, as well as the Global 5000, 5500, 6000, 6500, and upcoming 8000 business models. Bombardier’s commercial aircraft offerings include its CRJ and Q Series models.

    Distance & Speed

The public’s first view of the Global 7500 came in 2014 at the European Business Aviation and Exhibition in Geneva. Bombardier later sent the jet on an extended world tour to showcase its performance abilities and interior features, logging thousands of flight hours in the process. Besides next-generation fly-by-wire technology, the jet features GE Passport engines, the nice Touch cabin management system featuring “business aviation’s first application of an OLED display,” and a Dynamic Daylight Simulation feature, which is part of the Soleil lighting system Bombardier introduced to combat jet lag.

Measuring about 105 feet (32 meters) long, the Global 7500 has a top speed of Mach 0.925 and a 51,000-foot (15,545-meter) maximum operating altitude. The cabin measures 6.3 feet (2 meters) high, 8.2 feet (2.5 meters) wide, and 54.7 feet (16.7 meters) long. Since entering service, the Global 7500 has completed the first ever nonstop flight from London City Airport to California’s Van Nuys airport and set several speed and distance records, including flying 8,152 nautical miles (15,097.5 kilometers) nonstop from Singapore to Tucson, Arizona, in March 2019 to complete what at the time was the longest mission ever for a purpose-built jet.

You’ll find a big selection of new and used Bombardier aircraft for sale every day on Controller.com, including Global 7500, Global Express XRS, Global 5000, and Global Express models, as well as Challenger 604s, 600s, and 300s.
