SOCATA Aircraft For Sale

Socata was a global manufacturer of single-engine turboprop aircraft. The company’s history dates to 1911 with the founding of French aircraft maker Marone-Saulnier, which became part of the French state-owned Sud Aviation in the mid-1960s and was later redubbed Socata, or Société de Construction d'Avions de Tourisme et d'Affaires. In 2000, Socata became part of Europe-based EADS, or European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company, a global commercial and military aircraft manufacturer. In 2009, EADS, which later reorganized to become Airbus, sold a 70% interest in Socata to Daher. Originally named Daher-Socata, the company was renamed Daher in 2015.

Working with Mooney Aircraft, Socata introduced the TBM 700 in 1991 as the first fully pressurized, single-engine turboprop aircraft. Daher’s current models include the TMB 910 and TBM 930, with the latter billed as the world’s fastest single-engine turboprop. Previous TBM models include versions of the TBM 900, 850, and 700 and the TB-21 and TB-20.

For the TBM 910, Daher built upon the six-passenger pressurized, single-engine turboprop TBM 900 but substituted Garmin’s new G1000 NXi all-glass integrated flight deck for the previous G1000 system. The six-passenger TBM 930, meanwhile, powers on a Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-66D engine and integrates Garmin’s touchscreen-controlled G3000 avionics suite.
