Dassault Presents Virtual Look At Upcoming Falcon 6X At LABACE

In addition to its triple-engine Falcon 8X (shown here) and twin-engine Falcon 2000LXS business jets, Dassault gave virtual demonstrations of its upcoming ultra-wide-body Falcon 6X business jet at the recent LABACE aviation show in Brazil. (Photo courtesy of Dassault.)

Dassault recently gave attendees at the Latin American Business Aviation Conference & Exhibition (LABACE) in Brazil a lot to look at. The company had its triple-engine Falcon 8X and Falcon 2000LXS short-field twin-engine business jets on hand, and gave attendees virtual-reality demonstrations of its upcoming Falcon 6X ultra-wide-body twin-engine business jet. Dassault expects the Falcon 6X, which has a 5,500-nautical-mile (10,186-kilometer) range, to make its first flight in 2021 and begin deliveries the following year. The Falcon business jet family includes the 8X, 7X, 900LX, 2000LXS, and 2000S.

    Setting New Standards

Dassault bills the Falcon 6X as the “most spacious, advanced, and versatile ultra-wide-body twinjet in business aviation.” The aircraft’s cabin will measure 6.5 feet (1.98 meters) high and 8.6 feet (2.6 meters) wide. Dassault claims that’s the “highest and widest cross section in a purpose-built business jet.” At roughly 40.7 feet (12.4 meters) long, the company claims the 6X will offer more cabin space than any other Falcon it has produced.

The virtual-reality demonstrations Dassault provided at LABACE gave attendees a chance to experience the 6X cabin’s three lounge configurations and large-entry and crew-rest options. The demonstrations also highlighted the 6X’s all-new cockpit, which features the EASy III all-digital flight deck. Dassault says the 6X will also be the first business jet to carry a flaperon, new control device that further improves control during approach, especially on steep descents.

    The Brazilian Market

Dassault claims the Brazilian market has accounted for one in every five sales of its Falcon 8X to date. Carrying eight passengers and three crew, the 8X can connect Sao Paulo to San Francisco or Moscow, Hong Kong to London, and Shanghai and Los Angeles. Elsewhere, as with the shorter-range Falcon 2000S, the Falcon 2000LXS offers a short-field ability Dassault says compares to smaller midsize business jets but also offers “a range and comfort level far better than those aircraft.” Both the LXS and S models integrate the EASy flight deck and FalconCabin HD+ cabin-management system.

In addition to business jets, Dassault manufacturers Rafale military fighters. If you’re in the market for a Dassault aircraft, Controller.com has numerous pre-owned models for sale, including 7Xs, 900s, and 2000s.
