Gulfstream’s G600 To Make International Paris Air Show Debut, Joins G650ER & G280 Business Jets
“Extraordinary” is the word Gulfstream President Mark Burns used to describe Europe’s response to innovations that his company’s new 19-passenger, long-range G600 business jet is bringing to the business aviation sector. Burns made his comments ahead of the large-cabin G600’s debut appearance at the 2019 International Paris Air Show running June 17 to 23. The jet, which is expected to receive its Federal Aviation Administration certification by mid-summer, will join Gulfstream’s flagship G650ER and Robert J. Collier Trophy-winning G550 business jets on static display.
Speed, Comfort & Safety
Burns stated that “with Gulfstream’s advanced technology in the flight deck and award-winning design in the cabin, the G600 offers customers in every region a compelling combination of speed, comfort, and safety.” The jet, which recently made its debut in Australia at the Australian International Airshow and Aerospace & Defence Exposition, can transport passengers nonstop from Paris to Los Angeles or Paris to Hong Kong at an average speed of Mach 0.90. Gulfstream says it offers the longest cabin in its class at 45.2 feet (13.8 meters), the clean-sheet G600 includes an all-new Symmetry Flight Deck with active control sidesticks and touchscreen technology.
In the G650ER, meanwhile, Paris Air Show attendees will see a business jet that’s set more than 90 city-pair speed records to date. Those include the “fastest, longest-range flight in business aviation history,” which the G650ER achieved while flying nonstop from Singapore to Tucson, Arizona, in March. The G650ER can also fly from Paris to Singapore at Mach 0.90. Further, it recently won an International Yacht & Aviation Award in the Private Jet Design category.
Gulfstream Takes Paris
Also appearing at the 53rd Paris Show is the G550, of which Gulfstream says 580 models are in service, and the super-midsized G280 that Gulfstream targets at continental operators. Additionally, Gulfstream’s Special Missions booth located in the U.S. Pavilion at the air show will highlight modifications Gulfstream has made for the U.S. Navy’s G550 Telemetry Range Support Aircraft. Gulfstream will also highlight its next-generation medevac platforms and its latest design, engineering, and technology aimed at special-missions aircraft.
