Honda entered the aviation sector in 1986 when Honda Aircraft CEO Michimasa Fujino began work on what became the HondaJet. It wasn’t until 2006, however, when Honda officially entered the aviation sector and created Honda Aircraft Company in the United States. Work on the company’s headquarters in North Carolina started a year later. In 2014, the first production HondaJet flew, and in late 2015, Honda Aircraft delivered the first model. The aircraft was FAA-certified that same year. In August 2017, Honda Aircraft Company claimed the H-420 was the most delivered jet in its category for 2017’s first half.
